Descendants of John Blethen

Notes

1. John Blethen

The first record found of the Blethen family in America appears as a deed made out to John Blethen of Lynn, Massachusetts, by Daniel Southwick at Salem, Massachusetts, on September 28, 1659.

According to what I have (and I'm sure there will be the occasional overripe
tomato cast with the mythology label or similar) the John Blethen in the
reference you cite can only be the son of James b. ca 1602. The sons of
James b. ca 1602 are often referred to as the "three brothers" the "four
brothers" etc. Actually there were six brothers and probably the father
making a total of seven who immigrated in the 1610 to 1640 time frame.

Here is that family as I have it;

23. James Blethyn b. 1602 had

1. Bartholomew
2. Richard b. 1627
3. John b. 1632
4. William b. 1637
5. James b. 1640
6. Henry b. 1643

Follow this link (if it works) to find the Rootsweb listing for James which
shows his parents also.

1.. James BLEDDYN b: 1602 in Mecham, Monmouthshire, Wales

He owned land on the Old Mill brook, adjoining Daniel Southwick and Samuel Gardner and the highway along the common lands near Northfields. (New England Families 1915)

Jane Lemarcom

Jane is listed once as LeMarcomb, "A Jersey Maid". This was probably a reference to the Island of Jersey in the English Channel.

7. Hannah Blethen

Hannah is not listed in Salem History or Vital Records but was in John(1) will.
