30. Ichabod Blethen

Blifin, Ichabod. Private in Captain Benjamin Lamonts Company, Colonel Samuel McCobb's Regiment. Enlisted June 26, 1779; Discharged September 24, 1779. Service 28 days at Penobscot.


73. Nathaniel Blethen

Died onboard an American Man of War at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.


33. Bethena Blethen

The following spellings have been found for Bethena's name: 1. "Bathany" (marriage record, Hill, Mary P., Vital Records of Georgetown to the year 1892(1939).
2. "Bethena" [Blethen, Alden, Jr., Genealogy of the Blethen Family in America (1911)].
3. "Bathany" [Day Genealogy (1916)] This early genealogy does not have her marriage record, so must have had her name from family sources.
4. "Betheny" Howard on Lincoln County deed book 77, page 184. On July 6, 1811, "Betheny Howard, her x mark", signed a deed with other heirs of Jacob Day selling all rights to homestead farm of Jacob Day, 100 acres+/- with land and buildings.

Lost at sea. Once lived at Cape Elizabeth, Maine.


38. John Blethen

Went from Massachusetts to live in Oldtown, Maine.
Was in the garrison house in 1722 when it was attacked by th indians.
He died at the age of 94.
Bought Lot 12 in Durham, Maine in 1770 and afterward moved to Lisbon.
Died at the home of daughter Hannah.

Josiah settled in Royalsborough [Durham, Maine] in 1773

Blafin, Increase. Royalsborough (also given Walpole); return of men enlisted into Continental Army from Captain Stephen Hart's Company, Colonel Jonathan Mitchell's (2nd Cumberland Co.) Regiment, dated December 6, 1776; residence Royalsborough; enlisted town of Royalsborough (also given Royalston) joined Captain Blaisdell's Company, Colonel Wigglesworth Regiment; enlistment three years; reported mustered by Major Nathaniel Barber, Muster Master; also Corporal Smart's Company, Colonel Calvin Smith (late Wigglesworth) Regiment Continental Army Pay accounts for services rendered from January 1, 1777 to December 31, 1779; residence Walpole, credited to town of Walpole; Colonel Edward Wigglsworth's Regiment; muster returns dated Camp Valley Forge, February 5, 1778. Return of men enlisted into Captain Oliver Clap's Company, Benjamin Hawes (12th Suffolk Co.) Regiment, dated Walpole February 17, 1778.

In 1835 he applied for and was granted a tract of land, Lot 98, Township D, Range 1. After his daeth in 1838, his wife had considerable difficulty in obtaining her pension on accounty of the spelling of the name Blethen. Increase Blethen was the first man to own a carriage in Phillips, Maine.
