1715. Oliver Argyle Copenhaver Jr

Mr. Copenhaver attended Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., was retired from McCrory’s 5&10, and was founder and president of Copenhaver and Associates. He was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church


1727. Ora Marguerite Blethen

She was a member of Spruce Street United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. She was a graduate of Marshall University and received her master's degree in medical science at West Virginia University. She was a teacher at Morgantown High School, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Monongalia County Choral Union, and a volunteer at University Hospital, Monongalia County Hospice and Meals on Wheels.

1739. Joann Blethen

Joann Blethen Pomeroy, 78, of Hilltop, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital at Charleston, following a short illness. Born Dec. 27, 1933, at Minden, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lee Blethen and Essie Pearl (Stotts) Blethen. Mrs. Pomeroy spent her life being a dedicated wife and loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George C. Pomeroy, of nearly 61 years and her son Patrick Lee Pomeroy and a son-in-law Gaylon Wilkins. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters. Survivors include four sons, Clifford Lee Pomeroy of Hilltop, George D. Pomeroy and Michael L. Pomeroy of Warren, Mich., and Elzie P. Pomeroy and his wife Jenna of Belleville, Mich.; three daughters, Christine C. Wilkins of Corryton, Tenn., Belinda J. Brumley and her husband Rod of Shelby Township, Mich., and Michelle L. Dail and her husband David of Oak Hill; and one sister Virgie (Dimple) Mahood of Yale, Mich. Other survivors include many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. The family received friends at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, on Monday, June 25, 2012. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 26 at the Summerlee Wesleyan Church in Summerlee, with Pastor Tom Odom, her grandson-in-law, officiating. Burial followed in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
